Aims and Scope
As high-performance computing (HPC) and quantum computing continue to play a critical role in advancing scientific research and innovation, there is an urgent need to equip students and professionals with the knowledge and skills to harness these powerful tools effectively. The PIPSQUEAK special session invites contributions that explore educational strategies, professional training programs, and outreach initiatives aimed at broadening access to HPC and quantum computing knowledge.
This special session will provide educators, researchers, and practitioners with a platform to discuss the challenges and innovations in teaching HPC and quantum computing. We are particularly interested in contributions that focus on interdisciplinary approaches, integrating HPC and quantum computing into existing curricula, and developing resources for lifelong learning. Additionally, this session will explore how professional training for scientists and professionals without specific technical expertise can be enhanced to include foundational knowledge of HPC and quantum computing, enabling them to apply these technologies effectively in their fields.
Topics of Interest
Topics of interest for this special session include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum development and pedagogical strategies for HPC and quantum computing education.
Professional training programs aimed at non-specialists, including scientists, engineers, and industry professionals.
Integration of HPC and quantum computing concepts into K-12 and higher education.
Educational tools, resources, and infrastructures for teaching HPC, quantum computing, and related fields.
Strategies for addressing diversity and inclusion in HPC and quantum computing education.
Outreach initiatives to increase public awareness and understanding of HPC and quantum computing.
Case studies and best practices in teaching and training in HPC and quantum computing.
